Starting on March 20, 2026, Platea | Palazzo Galeano presents Fivefold Tuning, the new exhibition series curated by Giovanna Manzotti. This marks a significant shift in the programme’s temporal structure: rather than a succession of independent solo shows, it will unfold as a unified project that evolves through additions, proximities, and reciprocal echoes.
The title Fivefold Tuning evokes the idea of a five-part harmony: a process of harmonisation and proximity that requires mutual listening and shared tension. The initial voice – that of Liliana Moro – sets the rhythm with which the practices of the other artists will fit in, through a continuous exercise of finetuning embracing different languages and sensitivities.
Curator Giovanna Manzotti says: “I like to think of the program as a series of encounters between works inhabiting a collective space. With Liliana Moro’s intervention, the display window is prompted to renegotiate its role as a mere hosting environment, becoming instead an inclusive public square, capable of reflecting the transitory nature of what happens outside. The invited artists, in turn, tune into this scenario, its unique relationship with the city, and its nature as a space of echoes, forms, and sounds.”
With Fivefold Tuning, Platea strengthens its identity as a site for curatorial research by conceiving its programme as a continuous narrative that evolves over time rather than as a sequence of isolated events.
The graphic design of Fivefold Tuning is conceived by Carolina Incerti.
Alongside the exhibition programme, the educational project Buon Compleanno Platea!, curated by Bianca Basil, returns for its fifth year. Artist Nicola Biagetti will lead a workshop with students from the Liceo Artistico Callisto Piazza in Lodi, continuing the dialogue between artistic practice and education. The project will engage young participants in a creative process reflecting on the relationship between Moro’s exhibition and public spaces, in continuity with the curatorial framework of Fivefold Tuning.
